With profound sadness we announce the passing of Ronald Larry Stutski on July 11, 2024 at 69 years old. Left to cherish his memory are his wife and best friend of 47 years, Susan, daughters; Jennifer (Adam), and Andrea (Matt), his mother Ann, siblings; Gerald, Gail (Ron), Calvin (Ellen), Raymond, and Mark (Cindy), nieces and nephews, along with many friends, and grand-dogs Olive, Jett and Violet. Ron was predeceased by his father Tony.
Ron was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in the Garden City area. As a young man he loved visiting with his grandmother and extended family members in Teulon, Manitoba and the surrounding Interlake area. Ron spent his 42 year career employed with the Manitoba Telephone System (MTS), working in the central office, and later in the Data Test Center.
While working at MTS in 1977, Ron met his future wife Susan, as she too worked there. He asked her out for coffee, and the rest is history. Ron and Susan were married October 28, 1978, and last year they happily celebrated 45 years of marriage. They welcomed their first daughter Jennifer in 1983, and their second daughter Andrea in 1987.
Ron was a loving, caring, generous, and thoughtful husband with the most wonderful sense of humour.
Ron was born to be a father, and there was nothing that he wouldn’t do for or with his daughters Jennifer and Andrea. He was the best father. He was kind, supportive, protective, loving, fun, and always there for moments both big and small. Ron was the ultimate example of what a husband, father and friend should be.
Ron loved travelling with his family (especially long summer road trips to California), photography, gardening, camping, biking, hiking, snow-shoeing, spending time in nature, and big fun-filled family bonfires and barbeques at Birds Hill Park. He enjoyed listening to 60’s, 70’s and 80’s music. He loved hockey, and was an avid Winnipeg Jets fan. Ron was a very intelligent, creative and extremely talented man, and there was nothing that he couldn’t fix or build.
He had the greenest of thumbs, and his gardening of flowers was spectacular. Ron had a very special connection with animals, especially with birds (and they loved him right back). Ron enjoyed spending time with his beloved conures Kiwi, Sweetpea and Skittles. He loved the ocean, and went on many beautiful cruises with his wife and friends. Ron loved spending his winters in Florida on the beach, and he adored his time spent in Europe with his wife.
Ron ~ Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You will remain forever in our hearts.
“Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, and very dear”
