With heavy hearts and deep sadness the family announces the passing of Joe Dimaggio at the age of 65. Joe passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday May 1st, at Riverview Health Centre, with his loving wife Joyce by his side.
Joe will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his wife Joyce, son Kyle, daughter Candice (Connor), brother Mike (Sharon and children Kim, Robert, and David), his niece Loretta (Steven), his brother-in-law Tony Vangelista, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Nicola and Marie, brother Joseph, and sister Nina.
Joe was born December 15th, 1948 in Italy. His family immigrated to Winnipeg in 1950, where Joe would one day raise a family of his own. He attended Tec Voc high school where he participated in many sports such as track & field and basketball. Joe built a career with the city's Parks and Rec. and Forestry Dept.'s, where he became a strong advocate for the union.
Joe was an outgoing man with a friendly personality, content whether spending time with friends, playing sports, or working on his car. He could entertain a conversation on any subject, and was always willing to help the friends he cherished. He will be sorely missed by the many whose heart's he touched.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their great compassion and care.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday May 8th, 2014 at Green Acres Funeral Home on Highway 1 East, Winnipeg, Mb. Entombment will follow in Holy Angel Mausoleum.
