Frances Dawn Wilson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Frances Wilson, on Thursday,

February 3, 2022, at the De Salaberry District Health Centre at the age of 80.

Fran will be lovingly remembered and missed by her sole daughter Deb (Chuck), grandchildren

Ashley (Derrick), André (Rebecca), Avery and Austin, great-grandchildren Amelia, Rowyn and

Sophie. She is survived by her sister Connie, brother Frank (Doreen) and sister Gloria (Terry).

She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Fran was born in St Boniface on July 21, 1941 to Rose and Frank Claes of Winnipeg. She was

predeceased by her parents, brother in law Warren, and loving husband, Lloyd.

Fran's early years were spent working as a seamstress in Winnipeg. In 1967 the family

purchased a restaurant in Altona, Mb and named it Claes Restaurant. Fran spent the next 18

years working in the family business.

On weekends, Fran and Lloyd escaped to their "shack" in Aubigny as a way to take a break

from their bustling restaurant. In the winter months, they could be found snowmobiling every

weekend.

After 18 years of restaurant success, Fran and Lloyd sold the restaurant, and build a new home

in Aubigny. Fran worked in the Dietary Department at the hospital in Morris, MB until her

retirement.

During her retirement, Fran loved going to the casino. Most trips were with her brother, Frank

and sister-in-law, Doreen. She always loved to fill her car with her neighbors and friends and

head to the casino.

Fran was also known for her green thumb and love of gardening. From a large backyard garden

to a few small planters, she always had flowers and plants nearby.

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all caregivers for their care and

compassion during Fran's later years, especially Dr. Kiani and staff at De Salaberry District

Health Centre. They always had her best interest at heart and we are forever grateful.
