He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son David and sister Cathy in British Columbia as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was predeceased by his wife Gwendolyn on May 31, 1986, his parents and siblings.
Charles was one of 17 children of Stanley and Mary Korzinsky of Eagle River, Ontario.
After leaving school, he held down jobs at Canadian Pacific as a cook for the track gangs, driving a catering truck and a mover for Red Wing Cartage.
After David was born in 1964, Charles moved his family to London, Ontario where he briefly owned a diner. The Corey’s moved to Windsor, Ontario, where he took a job with The City of Windsor Parks and Recreation. In 1971, the Corey’s returned to Winnipeg. He was hired by The City of Winnipeg where he stayed until his retirement in 1993.
An ardent fan of The Winnipeg Jets, he contributed to a “Save the Jets” campaign in 1974 and was one of over 4100 subscribing members of The Jets. We were elated when the current Winnipeg Jets arrived in 2011.
He watched the 2018 playoffs at Calvary Place, his final home.
The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Green Acres Funeral Home & Cemetery, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba, followed by interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association.
Special thanks to the staff at Calvary Place.
