It is with great sadness that the family of Camille Ledoyen announces his passing on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the age of 84 years. Cam was predeceased by his son Robert in 1993. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 65 years, Irene; his daughter Denise and husband Scott; his grandchildren Kristy (Saad), Ashley (Jake), Jason (Lehanne), Brent (Emily), and his great-grandchildren Reece, Hayden, Presley, Abbie, Lola, Calix, Holly, and Penny. Also left to mourn his passing are his sister Leonie, sisters and brothers-in-law (Lucie), Lucien (Rita), Henriette (John), Laurette (Paul), Paul (Denise), Yolande (Ron), Ida (Ray), Emile (Nancy), Marcel (Gudrun), Gilbert (Diane), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Germaine (Marcel), Yvonne (Ben), and Leon.
Cam worked for many years at CP Rail as a boilermaker. He took great pride in his work and excelled at it. Over the years, Cam loved to spend time with his family and close friends at the lake in Kenora. He called it God’s country, and some of his fondest memories were from his time at Austin Lake. He loved being around people, country music, woodworking, fishing, snowmobiling, and watching sports. He was especially thrilled when the Blue Bombers won the Grey Cup and we are sure he will be cheering on the Jets from heaven.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at the Heritage Life Personal care Home for all the care they provided. A special thank you to Cam’s good friend and fellow resident Annie for all the support he received from her in the last six years, and thank you to everyone who made the time to visit Cam at the personal care home – he enjoyed every visit and it always made his day.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, Winnipeg. Private family interment to follow.
