Nashville - William F. Kautzman, 101. Born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 21, 1916 to Helena Owen and Charles Kautzman, Fred was reunited with his beloved Mildred on August 24, 2018. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Charles E. Kautzman, Lillian K. Cabiness, Florence K. Hodge, Mary Katherine Kautzman, Mary E. Quinn and Frank Kautzman, and his wife of 42 years, Mildred Pounds Kautzman.
He is survived by sons William F. (Teresa) Kautzman, Jr and Kenneth E. (Sue) Kautzman, daughter Carol Kautzman (Terry) Frederick, grandchildren David (Michal) Kautzman, Beth (Art Bragg) Kautzman, Kelly Kautzman, Thomas (Julia) Boyd, Alisa (Josh) K. Stephens , Jenifer Kautzman, and Kenneth Kautzman, Jr, and six great-grandchildren.
Fred was an artist, studying painting at the Kansas City Art Institute under renowned painter Thomas Hart Benton. After working for several advertising agencies in Kansas City, he finished his working career as an art director at the Baptist Sunday School Board. Upon his retirement, he returned to his first love, painting. His works won many awards including works accepted in the Central South exhibit on multiple occasions. A 60 year member of First Baptist Church Nashville, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him. The world is a better place because he was here.
Visitation from four o'clock until six on Wednesday, Aug 29 and one hour prior to the service Thursday, August 30. Celebration of Life Services immediately following at eleven thirty in the morning, all at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
