William Albert Caver, 19, recently graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy and planned to attend Miami University on a RedHawk Excellence Scholarship this month. His kind and joyful nature touched everyone who met him. Will was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a four-year letterman wrestler at MBA, an Eagle Scout at St. George's Episcopal Church's Troop 31, and an avid fan of The Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators, Cincinnati Reds, Nashville Soccer Club, and Leeds United. He attended the Westminster School for Young Children, Julia Green Elementary School and Oak Hill School and played basketball, baseball, soccer and flag football in the West Nashville Sports League. His love of history manifested itself in his mission trip to Northern Ireland and Wilson Grant to study Winston Churchill. Will was a Montgomery Bell Academy "gentleman, scholar and athlete" whose deep and lasting friendships extended across Nashville. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered as a fun-loving and devoted classmate. Will was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Cherrie Ann Forte Farnette. He is survived by his parents, Jennifer and Giles Caver; twin brother Henry and sister Sarah Jean; grandparents Ann and Michael Caver and Robert Farnette; uncles Jon (Laurie) Caver, Brendan (Eileen) Caver and Michael (Panya) Farnette; cousins Emma, Molly, Matthew and Timothy Caver and Sabina Cavowitz.
A service celebrating his life will be held Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3900 West End Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee 37205, with a reception immediately following from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Montgomery Bell Academy Dining Hall, 4001 Harding Pike 37205.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Montgomery Bell Academy or Westminster Presbyterian Church. Please note “in Memory of Will Caver.”
