Roy Alton Mabry, born on September 16, 1938, in Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, at the age of 86, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving wife of 65 years, Connie Sue Nipper Mabry.
Roy was married to Connie on November 24, 1959. She served as a dedicated firefighter for 34 years, primarily working out of Station 29. Roy was a man of many talents and passions. He was an avid fisherman who found joy in the peaceful solitude of the water. A skilled carpenter, he took great pride in creating things with his hands. Roy also found immense satisfaction in tending to his yard, mowing, and planting flowers. His well-kept lawn was a testament to his hard work and love for beauty in the simplest things. He was known for his love of cooking and cherished the opportunity to cook for the firefighters on shift, enjoying the camaraderie and fellowship they shared.
A longtime member of Madison Creek Baptist Church for over 25 years, Roy's faith was an integral part of his life.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Connie, and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Shane Mabry; granddaughter, Tessa Paige Mabry; and siblings, James Lloyd Mabry, Ava Stafford, Charles Mabry, Donald Mabry, and Patsy Johnson.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Madison Creek Baptist Church in Goodlettsville, TN. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 PM. Roy will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park after the service.
Roy's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
