of Nashville, TN passed away after a brief illness, during which his
strength and bravery will long be remembered.
Bob was the devoted husband to Sarah (Regan) Schiffler. A loving father
to Jadyn and Sadie, the lights of his life, and a faithful friend to Oliver and
Nate.
Bob was born in Chicago, IL on February 14, 1955 to William and Gloria
(Gradishar) (late) Schiffler.
Brother to Bill (late) (Donalisa), Sandy (Frank), and Larry (Sheila) Schiffler.
Brother-in-law to Lorrie (Larry) (late) Kampwirth, Terry Regan, Brian (Angie)
Regan, Annie (Todd) Lardenoit and Margie (Tim) Hennessy. He was an
irreplaceable Uncle to Nicole, Matthew, Julie, Jane, Kristin, Kevin, Erin,
Emily, Tyler, Grace, Jordan, Conner, Colin, Casey, Maeve, Eamon and
Seamus. Great Uncle to Jimmy, Nicholas, Evan, Lily, Ziggy and Esme.
Bob had many happy memories growing up in the city. He attended St. Rita High School and then went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University followed by his MBA. He was an avid softball player through college and after. Sports always played an important role in his life. One of Bob & Sarah’s first dates was going to Super Bowl XX in New Orleans to see the Champion Chicago Bears. Nothing changed Bob’s life more than becoming a father. He cherished his girls and loved being their guide and protector.
Although Bob's job took him south to Atlanta and Nashville, he was a
true Chicagoan. A diehard White Sox, Blackhawks and Bears fan with a
fondness for the Tennessee Titans. Bob's love for travel took him all over
the world. He especially enjoyed visiting the National Parks with his family,
enthusiastically sharing his park knowledge with them.
With Bob's work ethic and passion for numbers, it was clear from the
start he was destined for big things. He never demanded the spotlight, but
his supreme capability often drew it to him, and he was as sharp as they
come, logical and precise. These gifts served him well in a successful 33
year career with Bridgestone/Firestone, retiring as Director of Auditing in
2017. He was also quite the handyman, diagnosing and fixing just about
anything, skills imparted to him by his father.
No one was prepared for Bob to leave us so soon. But we are rest assured
he feels proud of the legacy he left behind. Bob's immediate and extended
family meant everything to him, and the circle of friends he built lifelong
relationships with are counted among that number. We are all so lucky to
have known him and loved him.
Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 3:00pm with Gathering of Family and Friends beginning at 2:00pm at Cristo Rey High School Chapel, (Old St. Stephen Church), 1852 W. 22nd Place Chicago, IL.

mean the world to him, the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be
made to…Christian Homes of Abilene…christianhomes.com, Catholic Charities of TN…2806 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN, 37214 (checks accepted…note adoption program in memo).
