Dr. Robert Francis Goodrich, Sr., DDS; December 5, 1930 – February 27, 2019; of Nashville, TN. Bobby is preceded in death by wife Barbara J. Adams, parents Loevell Eugene Goodrich, Willie Mae Baker and Sister Angela Bernhardt. Bobby is survived by his 4 children, Paula Goodrich, Lori (Ray) Reddick, (Ret) LTC Robert F. (Maureen) Goodrich Jr., and Adam (Renee) Goodrich; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Bobby was a graduate of Father Ryan High School (1949) then went on to Military Service in the United States Air Force (1950-1954). Bobby then Attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville TN (1954-1957) and then received his doctorate at the University Of Tennessee College Of Dentistry, Memphis TN (1957-1960). Bobby then set up his dental practice in 1960 in Nashville, TN until he retired in 2005.
During Bobby’s professional years he continued his education at the University of Utah, School on Alcohol and Drug Dependencies. He then went on to serve on the board of the Concerned Dentist Committee and American Dental Association on Chemical Dependency form 1982-1990. In 1988 Bobby received the Fellowship Award for Distinguished Service from the Tennessee Dental Association and in 1990 The Outstanding Service Award from the American Dental Association. He was also a very active member of the Alcohol and Drug Council of Middle Tennessee and served as Director of the Tennessee Dental Association Concerned Dental Professionals Committee.
Bobby was a life time member of the Capital City Golf Association. Also a member of the Knights of Columbus #544 since 1960 and was a forth degree knight.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of the Assumption, 1227 7th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37208 with Rev. Edward Steiner officiating. A one hour visitation will be held prior to the service.
