The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 1-4pm, at Cedar Forrest Lodge in Cedars of Lebanon State Park. The family has requested that you wear your overalls, jeans, and ball caps in honor of Richard.
Richard was born in Madison, IN to Hobart and Dorothy Sullivan on 8/31/1945. He went to Madison Campus High School and graduated in 1965 and served in the Army from 1965-1967. He worked as a Framer for Wayne’s Framing/Frank Batson Homes for many years before going on to running his own business, Richard’s Framing. He built many beautiful custom homes in multiple subdivisions in Davidson and Wilson Co’s over the years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and neighbors, fishing, and camping.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Hobart and Dorothy Sullivan.
Richard is survived by his wife, Betty, of Murfreesboro, TN, his children Rod Sullivan (Christy), of Mt. Juliet, TN, Richie Sullivan (Kim), of Hermitage, TN, and Saharra Jewell, of Murfreesboro, TN. He is also survived by his grandchildren Matthew Sullivan (Jennifer) and Preston Sullivan, as well as Avery and Camryn Jewell. Also survived by is sister, Elaine (Charles) Giles, of Lake Mary, FL, brother, Marvin (Lois) Sullivan of Ootlewah, TN, plus multiple nieces and nephews.

Richard will be cremated and will make his way to the mountains of North Carolina in the Spring, where he enjoyed many days as a child. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone who has prayed and given condolences during this difficult time.
