Richard Bate Hope 93, died on Sunday, May 12th, 2019. Richard was born on November 5, 1925 in Nashville, TN, the son of William Bate and Mary Emma McGinnis-Hope. He married Betty Lou Rittenberry on April 5th, 1956. He served for 32 years in the Army and National Guard, and was a 60 year member of the American Legion.
Surviving is his wife, Betty; daughters, Lori (Rick) Ledbetter, Karen (Lloyd) Harrell, and Delores (Porter) Buff; three grandchildren, Nick Ledbetter, Norman Pugh, and Misty Pugh; many great grandchildren; and special niece, Rachel Brannon and her son, John Brannon. He is predeceased by his parents; brother, Tommy; and sister, Mildred.
A gathering of friends and family will be on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from twelve thirty until two thirty at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at two thirty in the afternoon in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
