Dr. Pamela Munz age 74 of Nashville passed away October 28, 2017. Pam was born in Pensacola, Florida, and obtained undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida and Murray State University. She received her Masters Degree and PhD from the University of Tennessee system. A lifelong educator, Pam spent 40 years teaching and serving college students at the University of Tennessee, Tennessee State University, and Nashville State Community College, where she served as Dean of Arts & Sciences, and Dean of Social and Life Sciences. Pam poured her heart and soul into her work, but she was also a voracious reader and whip-smart social butterfly who enjoyed traveling with friends, trips to the beach, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her three “Westies” Grover, Teddy, and Truman. Pam is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Bohannon and Annell Kalashian, as well as Lee Munz, her devoted and beloved husband whom she loved with all her heart. She is survived by her step-father, “Papa John” Kalashian; sisters Judy Kimbro and Jolee Morehead; son Todd Moss and his wife Sarah; grandchildren Otis and Evan Moss; dear friends Mira Fleischman, Faye Jones, Norma Sheucraft, and the entire Sheucraft Family: Dean, Derrek, Heather, Deana, Lia, Neely, Gordon, Gavin, Lexie, and Lowell Ann Scelza. A visitation celebrating Pam’s life will be held on Saturday, November 4th, between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home in Nashville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nashville State Community College Foundation (https://www.nsccf.org/donate/ ), or the Westie Rescue of Tennessee (http://westierescueoftn.com/donate ). The family would also like to thank Ada Minter, Megan Wagoner, Kathy LaPlant, Mike Todd, and Laurel Hales for all the love and kindness they showed to Pam in the final years of her life. And a special thanks to the countless other friends and colleagues who enriched Pam’s personal and professional life. She will always be remembered as a vivacious, independent woman who lived life on her own terms. We will miss you Pammy!
