So sad such a talented musician who will be sadly missed by all family and friends and also the music family rest in peace Micheal from Janet United Kingdom 🇬🇧 

Michael was always in the pocket. He was a soft spoken leader and he always took time to help. Early in Vince's career, my bass was being worked on by Joe Glaser, and Michael rescued me with a loaner, a 1964 Jazz bass. I ,too, played with Danny Rhodes, no relation, and over the years Michael and I passed each other in life on similar circumstances. He had my utmost respect and he will be missed by everyone he touched. I hope he leaves me that "Big Note"secret that he was able to pull from his vast knowledge of the song at hand. He was more than just a good man. He had a deep abiding soulfulness in his playing and in his character. A friend forever. I was so honored to have him in my first touring band back in 1973. First in Memphis (via Destin FL where we put the band together), then Nashville, L.A., and back to Nashville again where Michael played with my father’s band. Later, I would often see him at the airport flying to a gig, and before long he was the hottest bassist in Music City. It hurts that he’s gone. We’re all a little worse off without him. That’s for sure. He’ll be missed and loved by all who were lucky enough to know him. What a beautiful wonderful man.

I met you through a mutual friend, Greg Krochman, in the 80’s when you were with the Nerve. I’m so sorry that you are gone from this world and from such an evil cancer. I suffer from pancreatic cancer also. My condolences to your family and how much they loved you through it all.
