Mary Nell Morris

Mary Nell Morris aged 90 of Nashville,TN passed away June 21, 2014 at the Heritage of Brentwood. Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, & Great-Grandmother, Mary Nell passed away after being surrounded by her loving family. Mary Nell was born in Paducah Kentucky June 26, 1923. She graduated from Augusta Tilghman High School in 1941 and went to work for AT&T while her husband, Ed Clark Ford served in WWII. When Mr. Ford passed away she went to work for The State of Tennessee in the personnel department. Mary Nell married George P. Morris on December 22, 1971. Mary Nell belonged to the Brentwood United Methodist Church, The Elk's Club and the Sertoma Club of Nashville. Mary Nell & George spent 43 years enjoying each other, family, friends, and Alabama football. They traveled the country to watch the Tide. Mary Nell enjoyed a rich social life with many friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Mary Langston; sister, Martha Langston; brother, Marvin Langston; Grandson of the heart, John Neal and great-grandson, Riley Williams. She is survived by her loving husband George P. Morris and her son Barry Ford (Annette). She also leaves behind two step-daughters, Linda Morris and Anne Harris (Scotty); Granddaughters, Tiffany Ford (Sam Dean) and Ashley Williams (Thomas); Grandchildren of the heart, Clay Neal (Tina), Brett Neal (Jennifer), Ty Neal, Grace Anne Morris, Mark Hayes (Sarah), David Hayes (Robin), John Hayes (Ginny); Great Grandchildren Rachel, Peyton, Austin and Gabriel; Great Grandchildren of the heart Ashley, John, Clayton, William, Julian, Noah, & Silas; Sister-in-law, Juanita Langston and Goddaughter, Karen Yarbrough. She also leaves behind Lisa Paris (Mike), loyal and loving caregiver and friend for many years. Mary Nell considered Lisa's children, Melissa, Jimmy and Rachel as her honorary Great Grandchildren. Mary Nell will be laid to rest at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home at 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN on June 26, 2014. Visitation will take place at 12:00 pm with funeral to follow at 1:00 pm on Thursday.
