Mary Etta Griggs Markham

Mary Etta Griggs Markham, Mt Juliet, Tennessee Born July 16, 1931 in Nashville, TN and went to be with her Lord Monday August 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by parents, Claude and Lenis Robinson and husband Everett Griggs; brothers, Claude Jr, James “Toby” and Charles Robinson. Survived by husband, Jim Markham; daughter, Patti Ingram; son, Terry Griggs; step daughter, Pam Donnaurd; step son, Doug Markham. Mrs. Mary Etta Markham graduated in the class of 1950 from Donelson High School as the prettiest cheer leader in class. She met and married Jim Markham in 1981. They spent many years in the Antique Business and traveling the US. She spent 33 years as a Key Punch Supervisor for the State of Tennessee in the Employment Security Section. She loved cooking and taking food to the sick, sewing quilts and working for the American Legion Auxiliary. She served two terms as President of the Auxiliary Unit 88 of the American Legion plus other positions. Friends and family will gather at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home on Wednesday evening August 16, 2017 from 4-8pm and Thursday 8-9am. Funeral Services Thursday, August 17th 9am at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery.
