Mary Lynne Fussell

Mary Lynne Gilmore Fussell, 91, of Dickson, TN, passed away September 23, 2023. She was born in Nashville, TN on December 6, 1931 and was one of four children. Lynne graduated from David Lipscomb High School and later David Lipscomb College. Lynne worked for the United States Postal Service for many years, living in Washington DC and Nashville, TN. She married her beloved husband, Clyde Fussell, June 5, 1981 at the Granny White Church of Christ. The two had been high school classmates and reconnected while planning a class reunion. The pair shared many happy years together in Dickson, TN, where they were members of the Walnut Street Church of Christ. Lynne was strong, kind, loving, and ever devoted to family. Lynne and Clyde hosted Thanksgiving dinner for their family for decades, sharing their home for countless holiday memories.

Lynne is survived by Keith (Kim) Fussell, Tom Fussell, Sarah (Gary) Beatty, grandchildren Josh (Amy), Joanna, Joel, Emma, and Avery, and great-grandchildren Addie and Brixx, along with her brother Van Gilmore and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. While we mourn the loss of her presence with us here, we trust that she is held in the arms of her creator, reunited with sisters Betty and Katie, her beloved husband Clyde, and her parents Vanus and Mary Elizabeth Gilmore.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Mary will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 2:00pm to 3:30pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. Following visitation will be a Graveside Service held at 3:30pm in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
