Mary Evelyn Harper Mulloy passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on November 25, 2022, at the age of 86. Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mulloy, Sr.; her parents, Elam Franklin Harper and Agnes Bohan Harper; brothers, Carl Harper and George Harper. She is survived by two brothers, James Harper (Julia) and Tom Harper (Pat); two sisters, Emily Perry (Buster-deceased) and Estelle Wells (Larry-deceased); two sons, Eugene (Gene) Mulloy, Jr. (Sharon), and James Mulloy (Diane); a daughter, Mary Katherine Mulloy; eight grandchildren, Michael Mulloy (Minje), Megan Dacus (Ryan), Matthew Mulloy (Taylor), Mark Mulloy (Callie) , John Mulloy (Anna Claire), Natalie Mulloy, Sarah Mulloy, and Connor Mulloy; and Eleven Great Grandchildren.
She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1954 where she was voted "Most Witty" and attended Tennessee Tech University. She worked for a short time for the telephone company, married the love of her life and soon became a full time Mom. Later she became a full time grandmother and great grandmother, "GiGi". She was a communicant of St. Henry Catholic Church and loved her Catholic faith. She was a supporter of Catholic Schools, the Dominican Sisters and other organizations that helped those in need. She was an accomplished pianist, and for years played the pipe organ at St Henry Church for Sunday Mass, Weddings and Funerals. She was a talented piano teacher and shared that talent with many. She loved playing for her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and going to concerts, shows, and thoroughbred horse races. She loved her pets, playing games, rocking babies and just being with her family. She also loved her care givers at Mary, Queen of Angels. Evelyn was always the life of the party .
Active Pallbearers are Michael Mulloy, Matthew Mulloy, Mark Mulloy, John Mulloy, Connor Mulloy, Ryan Dacus, Patrick Mulloy and Harper Dacus. Family visitation will take place at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Road, Nashville, TN, 37205, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2022. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 pm by Father Mark Beckman. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Henry Church, Father Ryan High School, The Dominican Campus, or the charity of your choice.
