FARMER, JR., Marvin PalfordAge 84 of Mount Juliet, passed away peacefully at his home on June 17, 2010. Preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Palford Farmer, Sr. and Bessie Mae Short Farmer; brothers, Wiley and Paul Farmer. Survived by wife, Laura Copeland Farmer of 62 years; sons, Gary Wayne Farmer (Julie), Roger K. Farmer (Sue); daughters, Sharon Farmer Lovett (Darrell), Rita Farmer Reed (Ricky); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Horace Farmer (Nashville), Raymond Farmer (Louisville) and Doris Wayman (Nashville). Mr. Farmer served as a Corporal 2nd Marine Division, 10th Regiment during WWII as a Rifle Expert assigned to special details and discharged with honors. Mr. Farmer was a Mason at McWhirtersville Masonic Lodge #375 F&AM, a Royal Arch Mason Chapter #234 and a past Patron of the Eastern Star. He was Treasurer, Range Officer and Board Member of Gallatin Gun Club for 28 years. He was a Coach and Board Member at Donelson Little League for 25 years. Mr. Farmer was active in many local organizations in Donelson, Hermitage and Mt. Juliet throughout his lifetime. Mr. Farmer worked for Nabisco, Inc. as a Special Rep until his retirement in 1984. A Military Service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., followed by a Masonic Service at 7 p.m., officiated by Brother Tom Hager at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home, 429 Donelson Pike. Honorary Pallbearers: Board of Directors and members of Gallatin Gun Club. Active Pallbearers: Gary Farmer, Bradley Farmer, Rick Reed, Ricky (Lee) Reed, Jr., Darrell Lovett, Samual Cavanaugh.
