Marjorie graduated from West End High School and George Peabody College for Teachers (now part of Vanderbilt University) where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Epsilon national educational sorority. Shortly after graduation, she married Lt. Col. in the U.S. Marine Corps, Paul Ridge on December 27, 1957. Her adventure as a military wife included relocating all around the country. Kansas City was home for many years, where they raised their children. Marjorie worked as a legal secretary for Wallace Saunders Austin Brown. After her career, she and Paul enjoyed traveling the world together. She attended Franklin First UMC, where she was actively involved for many years in the ministry of crocheting countless baby blankets, that were given to newborns at local hospitals. Marjorie enjoyed needlework, sewing, spending time with friends playing cards and games, reading and was a collector of antiques and quilts.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul Ridge; children, Paul Bryant (Cristina) Ridge, and Jeannie (Matt) Sexton; grandchildren, Christopher, Sean, Travis, Sabryn and Chase; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A gathering of family and friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022. Immediately followed by a celebration of life for Marjorie from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
