She was the daughter of the late Judson A. Eakes and Eula Mai Wright Eakes.
She was married to John William (Bill) Ezell for 59 years. He precedes her in death.
She was a graduate of Donelson High School where she was an All City Basketball player.
She is survived by daughters Terrie (John) Robinson, Kim Owens and son John William (Janene) Ezell, Jr. Grandchildren: Beth (Ben) Miller, Kyle (Erin) Robinson, Clay (Leslie) Robinson, Paige (David) Patton, Ashley (Drew) Thomas, Alex (Shane) Schock, Will (Sunny) Ezell, Eric Ezell and fiancé Lila Perry, Abby (Zach) Walker. Great Grandchildren: Elliotte and Malone Miller, Leah and Preston Robinson, Brady and Ruthie Robinson, Charlotte and Foster Patton and Finn Thomas: niece Shelley (Walter) Richardson.
Preceded in death by sister, Mildred Kirkham and nephew, Steve Kirkham.
Her true passion was her family where she was known as Mom, Mama, and Nanny. She loved them with the most complete and utter love. She loved to entertain and was the ultimate hostess, accomplished cook, avid reader and excellent seamstress. She had a love for flowers and was a member of the Lebanon Road Garden Club. She was a lover of SEC football and the Titans. Always wanting the schedules to plan out her weekends of watching. Her other passion was her beloved Naples, FL where she spent many winters in later years. When in Naples her motto was "Do nothing, and do it slowly!"
She was a former member of Donelson Church of Christ and Brentwood Hills Church of Christ. The last few years she has been worshiping online with Hillsboro Church of Christ.
The family would like to thank the 2nd floor staff at Richland Place Health Care, especially Renee, Judy, Margaret, Alyssa and Casey who took wonderful care of our mother. A special thanks to Hunter Harris of Richland Place Health Care.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm - 3:00pm on Sat. Aug. 19th at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Entombment will follow for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nashville Symphony, Hillsboro Church of Christ, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Alive Hospice.
