Catherine Boyd Dickey. She attended Hillsboro High School and Peabody College at Vanderbilt.
Member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and Alumnae Association. As a lifelong servant of the Lord,
she attended Woodmont Christian Church for 45 years where she taught Sunday school, sang
in the church choir and served on various committees. For the past 13 years she has been a
devoted member of First Presbyterian Church where she has served as a deacon and chaired
several committees. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Harper Ford. Survived
by daughters Cathy Thompson (Bobby), and Beverly Evans (Roger Brown). Grandchildren,
James David Evans, Jr. (Elyse), Laura Kate Hagen (Brandon), Janey Harper Collier and Great
Grandsons, Harper James Hartridge Evans and Jackson Philip Hagan.
After raising her family, she worked in the Vanderbilt Athletic Department and Vanderbilt
University Medical Center for 21 years. She exhibited a willingness to give to the community by
freely giving of her time as President of Fannie Battle Social Workers, Cheekwood, Vanderbilt
Aid Society and many other community organizations. She was a member of the Centennial
Club where she enjoyed playing bridge, and doing needlework with her many friends.
Visitation with family will be Sunday June 24, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church from 2-4, to be
followed by a memorial service in the Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may
be made to Alive Hospice.
