James Douglas Vaughn, Sr., age 64 passed away on April 17, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Harriett Vaughn, sisters, Shirley Edwards, Kathy Breunner and brother-in-law, Jack Wright. He is survived by his wife Debby Vaughn, children, Michelle Danielle Vaughn, James Douglas (Angela) Vaughn Jr., Cody Alexander (Jonathan Mocha) Vaughn, Robert Christopher Gibson, Jr. and Billy James Gibson, siblings, Mike (Julie) Vaughn, Susan (Charles) Cox, Michelle (Keith) Ellasces, Lee (Leni) Vaughn, Valerie Herzog, brother-in-law, Orie Edwards.
James was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved the Lord with all his heart. Papou as he was known by his fifteen grandchildren, was a Member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, loved country music and coffee. He was a master carpenter, loved his country and served in the United States Navy for 8 years. He was Vice President of Ahepa chapter 343 in Nashville and served on the board of Ahepa housing in LaVergne TN. He was also a 3rd degree black belt in Karate where he later became an instructor. He was the glue that held the family together and lived his life the way the Lord led him.
There will be a prayer service held on Wednesday April 20, 2022 at 3:30 PM with Visitation to follow from 4:30-7 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 12 PM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Comitial service will be held on Friday April 22, 2022 at 9AM at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Lane in Nashville.
