He leaves his wife of 54 years, Linda Louise (Drury) Scott, three children: Alex and (Karen) Scott, Karen and (James) Chiu, Michael and (Angela) Scott, 9 grandchildren, and his sister Barbara.
Born in Los Angeles in January of 1944, to James Mack and Colleen (Warmoth) Scott, he grew up an “army brat,” traveling the world.
In his early years, he survived playing in an active Hawaiian volcano and riding his motorcycle through post-WW2 France. Most of his high school was in Paris, and he graduated from Clarksville High School, Tennessee. He attended Austin Peay University in Clarksville, graduating in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He met his wife, Linda, through mutual friends and thought he impressed her with his rose-colored 1957 Oldsmobile. Later, he joined Officer’s Training School in the Marines and was stationed in Quantico, Virginia.
After serving in the Marines, he worked as a certified public accountant for a couple of firms before taking a position at Dobson-Hicks and later at Hickory Specialties where he was promoted to Vice President. He retired from Bob Evans in 2002.
Mr. Scott had a passion for carpentry, landscaping, motorcycles, trucks, and his tractor. He built furniture for his wife and a small horse farm for his daughter. He had a generous heart, was loyal to his family, disciplined with money, and hardworking in career and family responsibilities.
Visitation will be 11-1 on July 27 followed by a graveside service at 1:00 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee.
