Born on August 2, 1931 to Glenn and Mary Treece, Glenna was raised in Jonesboro (Union Co.), IL, and graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 1949 where she played drums in the marching band.
Glenna developed a love of books at an early age, where she could often be found reading on the front porch. This love of reading continued throughout her life.
One of her early jobs was at the Doll Theater in Jonesboro where she met her future husband Floyd Wiley Griffith. They married on Christmas Day 1951.
Glenna was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved to cook, bake, travel and spend time with her family.
Glenna is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Floyd Griffith, brothers Larry Treece and George St. Clair.
She is survived by daughter Lorrie Griffith, sons Larry (Melissa) Griffith, Mark (Lori) Griffith; grandchildren Daniel (Rebekah) Griffith, Ryan (Teresa) Griffith, Josh (Candace) Griffith, Katie (John) Horn, Robyn Griffith; great grandchildren Harper Horn, Elliot Horn, Evan Griffith, Emilia Griffith, Laci Griffith, Boaz Griffith and Keegan Griffith.
A celebration of life will be held at Otter Creek Church, 409 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027 on Sunday November 24 at 3:00pm, with visitation beginning at 2:00pm.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of The Villages of Murfreesboro and Alive Hospice for all of their care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Griffith’s name may be made to Alive Hospice and Friends of the Brentwood Library.
