Emilou Fenker Frazier was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 20, 1913, daughter of Howard W. and Irma S. Fenker who have preceded her in death as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Martha Fenker. After a wonderful childhood in Clearwater, Florida, she moved with her family to Nashville, Tennessee.
Emilou graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University in 1932, and married Homer T. Frazier on 12/21/34. They had four children, Gail Frazier who died in 1957 at age 19, Katherine Frazier who resides in Jacksonville, FL, Tim Frazier who resides in Bellevue, ID, and James Frazier who died in 1968. Her husband, Homer, died in 1982.
Emilou was a preschool teacher, member of Belmont United Methodist Church and later moved to Hillsboro Church of Christ. She spent a life time volunteering for the Pink Ladies at Baptist Hospital, reading to the blind on WPLN radio, and delivering Meals on Wheels. She was loved by all but especially by her grandchildren, Denise Conrad Bates and Dutch Conrad. Her eight great grandchildren, who loved their Grammy, are Graham Bates, Brianna Bates, Hunter Bates, Tanner Bates, Dillon Bates, Sara Conrad, Shelby Conrad and Madeline Conrad, and one precious great, great grandson, James Conrad. It is with much sadness we say goodbye to our beloved Mom and Grammy, but with much rejoicing in knowing she is in heaven with those who have waited for her with open arms.
Visitation is from 10:00 am to noon on Saturday, April 19 at Woodlawn Cemetery with graveside services following.
