Dennis Jonathan Kennedy

Dennis Jonathan Kennedy, passed away Saturday October 14, 2023. Dennis was a native Nashvillian who attended McGavock High School. He loved to experience nature through hikes and walks. Dennis faced many hardships in life but never lost his sweet spirit. Dennis was stubborn with a wicked dry humor. He could be maddening one moment and make you laugh the next. Dennis passed away six years to the day of our beloved Aunt Fannie Belle who gave him limitless love and patience. Also, Dennis passed away seventy-six years to the day of his paternal grandfather Oliver Herman Kennedy. Dennis loved God through it all knowing where he was going when his “warranty expired.”

Dennis is preceded by his parents, Hoyt Russell Kennedy and Florene Cooper. He is survived by his brother David (Jackie) Kennedy; nephews David Kennedy and Jake Kennedy; Melissa Cheatham and family; and numerous friends.

There will be a gathering of friends and family on Monday October 23, 2023 at the Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home, 429 Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN from 10:00AM until time of service. The Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00AM, in the chapel of Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home.
