David Roger Hedgecoth passed from this life on DECEMBER 18, 2023. David was preceded in death by his daughter Bobbie Sue Hedgecoth, his father David Richard Hedgecoth, his mother Billie Jean Watson and three brothers, Thomas Charles, James Richard and Ronald Stanley Hedgecoth and his sister Brenda Woodall. David leaves behind his wife Nita Hedgecoth, daughter Karen Hedgecoth, and two granddaughters, Hailey and Mackenzie Hedgecoth.
David severed in the United States Navy in Veit Nam during war time as a CB (Construction Battalion) literally paving the way for our troops. He served his country with great pride and counted it an honor to do so. David had a love for cars and trucks and trained under the leadership of his uncle in repairing and restoring automobiles. He had fun with family and friends playing practical jokes and surprising the unexpected. He had a love for dogs, and in his last days built a loving relationship with Mr. Jack who never failed to visit him.
David suffered a massive stroke in 2003 and was no longer able to work, drive, or engage in outside activities. He gave his life to the Lord while attending services at the Rivergate Church of Christ. His remaining days were spent as a resident at the Murfreesboro Veterans Hospital, where he received great care and built compassionate, kind relationships with the doctors and staff.
David you will be missed.
David's family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, December 22nd at Mount Olivet Funeral Home & Cemetery. The Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00am.
