Dan Wesley Kinkade, 71, of Nashville, Tennessee, met His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. As the Scriptures promise, His faith has been made sight. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on September 27, 1952, and graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Physical Education.
He was married to the love of his life, Terri L. Kinkade, for 48 years. Together, they had five boys and, most recently, five grandchildren. His biggest smiles came from affectionately being called “Granddaddy,” as he loved his family well.
Dan loved taking his family to church and was a long-time member of Judson Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, where he served as a deacon and on several committees. He retired from UPS after careers in sales, operations, and management. He loved spending time with his family and friends, watching his beloved Vanderbilt Commodores, NASCAR races, and vacationing.
He is survived by his wife, Terri; children, Jeff, Daniel (Emily), Stephen (Carrie), and Spencer (Ivy); grandchildren Madelyn, Caleb, Everett, Grace, and Graham; his brother, Scott (Vicki); his brother-in-law, David (Tammy); and sister-in-law, Lynda; and several nieces and nephews. His son, John, parents, James Wesley and Mary Evelyn preceded him in death.
Romans 10:9 (NKJV), “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to ALS association and the Judson Baptist Church Building Fund.
A Gathering of Family and Friends for Dan will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Judson Baptist Church, 4900 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37220. The family will receive family and friends on October 20, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM at Judson Baptist Church followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
