Dale Skidmore Watson

Mr. Dale Skidmore Watson age 90, of Franklin, TN, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Watson was born in Lovell, Wyoming, on March 16, 1925, the son of the late Thomas Rowan Watson and Dorothy Laura Skidmore Watson. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a Quarter Master in the United States Army from 1945 until 1947. He worked for Baker Oil Tools of Oklahoma and retired from Sonic Drive-Ins as a franchisee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Watson was preceded in death by a son, Terrance Dunne Watson. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joyce Elizabeth Norton of Franklin, TN; four sons, Lanny Ray Steele of Cleveland, TN, Kenneth Daniel O’Dell of White Bluff, TN, David Reed Watson of Brentwood, TN, and Samuel Edward O’Dell of Camden, TN; two daughters, Valarie Ruth Watson McHenry of Mt. Orab, OH and Edda Joyce Watson of Pleasant View, TN; eighteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015, at eleven o’clock in the morning, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1101 Gray Fox Lane, Franklin, TN. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in Franklin, TN. The following grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Brennan O’Dell, Christopher O’Dell, Daniel O’Dell, Jackie Dale Hill, Joseph O’Dell, Michael O’Dell, Shay Williams, and Terry Watson.
