Colleen attended Rhodes College in Memphis, graduating in 1986, and earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Owen School of Business at Vanderbilt University in 1992. Colleen spent her life using all of her talents to improve the lives of children and adults, whether in student services at Vanderbilt, positions at Harpeth Hall Academy and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or most recently as Director, Chapter Relations for the Alzheimer's Association.
She is survived by her mother, Marian Grady of Jacksonville, Florida. She is also survived by her siblings, Tricia Lea and husband Randal of Nashville, Erin Kimzey and husband Shane of Bellaire, TX, Broderick Grady and wife Jennifer of Durham, NC, and Elizabeth Bell and husband Bill of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Daniel and Rachel Henwood, Reagan and James Kimzey, and Finley Bell, as Colleen was their much-loved “Aunt Beens.”
Colleen was known by all for her laughter, her optimism, her fierce devotion to her family and friends, and the joy she found in every aspect of her life. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 22nd, at The Grand Barn at Green Door Gourmet, 7011 River Road Pike, Nashville, TN 37209.
