Born July 28, 1921 in Cumberland, MD, he was the oldest son of the late Joab Lonnie and Mary Elizabeth Ray Deneen.
Shortly after graduation from Fort Hill High School, he joined the Signal Corps in Baltimore, MD and married Evelyn May Chambers on February 3, 1941. She preceded him in death in October 2012.
He is survived by his four children; Judith Thornhill, Pamela Calley, Brian Deneen (Jeanie), and Jeff Deneen (Terri); seven grandchildren Susie Sweet (Lowell), James Wind (LeAnn), Scott Corey (Liz), Marianne Corey Kott (Brian); Cherie Deneen, Kristin Deneen and Jeffrey Deneen, as well as 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Maxine Moats, Helen Roberts, Ruth Deneen; and two brothers, Raymond Deneen and Homer Deneen.
Clarence and Evelyn met at a Church of the Nazarene youth group and attended various fellowships in Cumberland, MD; Hagerstown, MD; Fort Worth, TX; Sacramento, CA; Rancho Cordova, CA; and Nashville, TN. They taught Sunday School throughout their lives and served as they could until they moved to a retirement facility.
Visitation will be at ten-thirty in the morning until eleven-thirty with a grave side service to follow at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at Fair Haven Community chapel, on Montclair Road in Birmingham, AL on Tuesday, March 3 at 10:00 AM.
