Charlotte was born on February 16, 1935 in High Point, North Carolina to the late Roger W. McAllister and Pearl P. McAllister. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, V. Melvin Hilton. She is survived by her brother, Doug McAllister, his wife Dinah and nephew, Drew, of Chapel Hill/Raleigh, North Carolina area. She is also survived by devoted friends, Tim and Linda Roberts, as well as many other dear friends.
Charlotte grew up in High Point, North Carolina. After graduating from High Point Central High School, she entered the business world and worked as a private secretary to the president of Carolina Container Corporation. She met and married Melvin, and they lived in Thomasville, North Carolina for several years. Career changes brought them to Nashville, Tennessee where Melvin eventually managed hotels, and Charlotte worked as a secretary. She loved typing and was always a very detail-oriented and organized person.
Charlotte and Melvin were active members of the First United Church for many years. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their many friends. They were very fond of dogs and had several beloved pets during their married life. Charlotte loved spending time at the beach with her friends, playing cards, shopping, and having a good time. She was genuinely known as a kind and sweet soul and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Charlotte was a generous person who blessed the lives of many people. She was truly a beautiful lady on the inside and outside.
A gathering of family and friends for Charlotte will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a celebration of life from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
