SIEVER, Billy Lee, Age 88 of Madison, TN passed away and is now with his Lord, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Mr. Siever was born May 27th, 1936, in Carbondale, IL son of the late Louis Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Williams Siever. Billy is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Joyce Faye Harris Siever of Madison, TN; sons Jeoff, of Mt. Juliet and Philip, (Becky Howard Siever) of Lebanon. Grandchildren Drew Siever of Columbus, OH and David (Mary Kathryn Willoughby Siever) of Lebanon, sister, Kay Morgan (Clay) of Portland. Billy served as a Deacon at Lockeland Baptist Church for many years and was an active member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed a long career in sales, working for some large name brand companies such as Gerber Baby Food, American Greeting Card Company, and others.
He met the love of his life, and lifetime dance partner, Joyce Faye Harris Siever at East High School in Nashville in 1952. They first met and danced at Teen Town in the basement of the East Nashville Public Library. They were always together and involved with anything related to church, sports and friends. Then came their beloved boys Jeoff and Philip. Where the boys were involved, so was Billy. He never missed a game, school performance, cub scout meeting or anything Church related. He also cherished his daughter-in-law Becky and grandchildren Drew and David Siever. They renewed his spirit and youthful glee as he again enjoyed every minute of all their activities. His grandfatherly love was always apparent.
He coached baseball, basketball and football for over 30 years. He first coached youth and adult baseball and basketball at Lockeland Baptist Church. He coached Jr. Pro Football and High School Football, Little League, and Babe Ruth baseball teams. He loved working and coaching young people, always with encouragement and discipline but more important to him, how to be a good person and teammate. He next moved into umpiring baseball and refereeing basketball games from Church League to High School and finally NAIA and Division 1 College Games. He loved the camaraderie and relationships you could build through sports.
Billy was always smiling and lived life to the fullest. He loved his Savior Jesus Christ and read his Bible daily. He was always involved with his family and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by Jim Siever, Carrie Siever, and Jeff Cunningham.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 27th at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home from 12:30-2:30. Funeral service, with Brother Andre Dugger officiating, will be at 2:30. Burial to follow service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
