Born on May 5th ,1927 in Nashville Tennessee where she grew up attending Stokes school, Hillsboro High School, Ward Belmont, class of ’44 and Vanderbilt University, class of 1949.
She was actively involved in St. George’s Church, serving on the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Centennial Club and Stoney Crest Garden Club. She loved playing Bridge, loved to paint, playing tennis and was a wonderful seamstress.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Stumb and son, Andrew Ward Stumb. She is survived by her two children, William Thomas Stumb, Jr. (Martha) and Elizabeth Stumb Woodring (Warren), five grandchildren, Morgan Stumb, Claire Stumb, Lilly Stumb, Carter Dozier and Warren W. Woodring, Jr. and six great grandchildren.
Her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and wonderful friends, especially her lifelong friend Gloria Graves, have been the LOVE of her life along with God and her church.
The family would like to thank Alive Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at St. George’s Church on December 28th at 11:30. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30.
