Betty Ann is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Maxwell of Nashville; son, David Maxwell of Nashville, daughters, Sarah (Alex) Kadel of Austin, Texas, Rachel (Jon) Carpenter of Joelton and Kathleen (Clayton) Stroop of Nashville; grandchildren, Henry, Gilbert, Elena, and a future granddaughter; brother, John Cowan, of Orange Beach, Alabama.
Betty Ann was best known as a devoted wife, mama, and “Nana”. Her competitive nature, strength and nurturing soul lives on in her children. She poured her heart into caring for others as a nurse at Baptist Hospital, before graduating to her true calling as a mother and the pulse of her family.
She enjoyed spending time at the beach, walking in the park, and serving the community as a volunteer.
A Funeral Mass will be held at one thirty in the afternoon on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Saint Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37205. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from twelve noon until time of mass at one thirty in the afternoon on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks any donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
