Betty Ruth Dean, 67 of Nashville, passed away Thursday January 19, 2023. She was born in Nashville, TN to Arthur and Karleen Dean on February 22, 1955. Betty grew up in Nashville, graduating from McGavock High School in 1973 and Lipscomb University in 1977. After graduation, Betty started her own catering business that continued for over 45 years. Betty was a lifelong member of Donelson Church of Christ. She was strong in her faith and loved with a passion. She loved life. She loved God, her family, her many friends, sharing her amazing food with others, collecting open salts, traveling and seeing Barry Manilow preform as often as possible. She was an amazing example of God's love in every way. She expressed in many ways her deep love for everyone she knew, especially her adoring niece, Jessica. Betty was love. To know her was to love her. She will be dearly missed.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Frank Dean and Mildred Karleen Dean. She is survived by her brother, Charles Arthur Dean and wife Deborah Leah Dean, niece, Jessica Leah Dean, numerous loving cousins and many special friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 23,2023 from 2:00-8:00PM at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home, 429 Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 1:00PM at Donelson Church of Christ, 2706 Old Lebanon Rd., Nashville, TN. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Donelson Church of Christ or St. Jude Hospital.
