Anna Ramsey Buchanan, age 97, passed away peacefully Monday, June 10, 2019 at McKendree Village. From her birth in Monterey, Tennessee on March 11, 1922 to her death on Monday she nurtured her family and friends with love, faith and encouragement. She was a graduate of Hume-Fogg High School. She married Carroll Buchanan of Nashville with whom she enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She was a Life Master bridge player and a member of Lincoya Hills Baptist Church. Anna especially poured herself into the lives of her children and grandchildren. Through her strength, generosity and commitment to family, she has influenced generations and left a lasting legacy.
She is survived by her two children Billy Buchanan (Shirley) of Chattanooga and Bettie Barkley (Steve) of Old Hickory. She had four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll E. Buchanan, Jr.; parents, Charles and Ester Ramsey and siblings, Lucy Hood and Charlie Ramsey.
Pallbearers will be Brian Buchanan, Brandon Barkley, Brett Barkley, Bruce Buchanan, Russell Buchanan, Ronnie Harris, Flynn Doyle, Reilly Doyle and Kyle Moore.
Funeral services and burial will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2017 at 11:30 am at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with the Rev Joe Evans officiating. The family will greet friends at Woodlawn from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, June 17th and on Tuesday, June 18th from 10:30 am until the time of the service. The Buchanan family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at the McKendree Village in Hermitage for their loving care of Anna these last few years.
