He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark Sloan Williams and Ella Connell Williams; his brother Wallace C. Williams and his sister Martha Williams. Allen was a native Nashvillian, he attended Duncan College Preparatory School, Vanderbilt University and the Bell Labs: Operating Engineers Training Program. He worked for 32 years at AT&T and BellSouth. After retiring, he worked side by side with his wife for 20 years at Maple Hall Interiors.
Allen is survived by his wife of 65 years, Laurale Burrus Williams; son Allen C. (Paula) Williams, Jr of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Laura Swan “Swannee” (David) Sexton of Knoxville, TN, Rachel (Steve) Burgin of Brentwood, TN, and Angela Williams of Whites Creek, TN.
Allen is also survived by his grandchildren, Allen C. Williams III, Ella Kate (Louis) Meyers, Julie (Chris) Dalby, Walker (Allison) Burgin, Daniel Burgin, Laura Burgin, Mark (Kelley) Burgin; great-grandchildren, Emelia, Layla, Paul Henry, Bennett; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Allen was a member of the Robert I Moore Sunday School Class and Handyman group at church, Friends of Whites Creek, Sigma Chi and Telephone Pioneers. Allen was a direct descendant of Robert Cartwright, who was one of the founders of the State of Tennessee. Allen was a family man, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a devoted church member and loyal friend who genuinely enjoyed people. He created memories with family and friends sharing adventures in the great outdoors fishing, hunting and farming. Allen was a man of integrity, the consummate southern gentleman, and quick to extend a helping hand.

A gathering of family and friends for Allen will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Rd., Brentwood, TN 37027, followed by a a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM. Interment is following the service at Springhill Cemetery, Gallatin Pike, Madison, Tennessee.
