Preceded in death by her father, William C. Terry, Sr.; mother, Alva Marie Bell Terry; sister, Elizabeth Louise Terry Williams; brother, William C. Terry, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Terry Roberts; husband of 53 years, Robert Gates Byram and infant son, Robert Terry Byram. Survived by many nieces and nephews whom loved her deeply.
Alice was a Nashville native who graduated from Isaac Litton High School and went on to earn her degree at The University of Tennessee, Nashville. She also attended the Andrew Jackson Business College in Nashville. She taught piano for over 10 years prior to entering the business world. She first worked for her father at Nashville Gas Co. before working for the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. She retired as Secretary to the Executive Director of TBC after 26 years. During that time she also served three terms as President of the International Association of Administrative Professionals and was also President of the National Secretaries Association which she joined in 1959 and resigned in 2006.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Donelson Tennessee for over 60 years and a charter member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Alice spent her final years surrounded by the love of her family. She lived with her nephews Daniel Pitman and Duane Enoch in Brentwood for almost 14 years. She touched so many lives, even in her final hours. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
