Sue Ellen (Huber) Culley, multi-disciplinary therapist and artist, died suddenly on Friday, February 17, 2023, in Nashville, Indiana. She was 69 years old. The cause of death is undetermined, but appears to have been natural causes.
She graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in Evansville, Indiana, in 1971. In 2001, she completed a B.S. in Art Education from Indiana University in Bloomington, and in 2015, she completed a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from St. Edward’s University.
Sue was a Licensed Massage Therapist of thirty years, experienced both in treating clients and teaching massage therapy students. She also practiced and taught Tai chi, Qigong, and other mind-body methods.
From childhood, Sue exhibited talent as a visual artist. In her recent works, she enjoyed experimenting with computer-based media.
Sue is survived by her son, Kris McKasson; her sisters, Julie Earnest and Ann Jeffers; her niece, Fiona Brown; her aunts, Margaret Remke and JoAnne Peters; her uncles Paul Peters and Ralph Peters; and many cousins. Her parents, Jack and Shirley Huber of Evansville, predeceased her.
She was loved by friends and family. Sue was particularly close to a maternal cousin who wrote, “She was so sweet to me. Quirky, blunt, truly magnificent, gifted, and sweet to her baby cousin.”
A memorial gathering is planned for Friday, February 24th, 2023 from 2-4pm E.T. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home (1682 State Road 135 North, Nashville, IN 47448). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Brown County Humane Society, 128 IN-135, Nashville, IN 47448; or to Head Start, 1500 W. 15th Street, Bloomington, IN 47401.
