Larry E. Holland of Nashville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side in the IU Health Hospice House on November 11, 2018. Larry was born in Hartford, Kentucky to the late Kenneth Ray and Ruby Jean (Oller)Holland on September 24, 1947. He was 71 years old.
Larry was a graduate of Ohio County High School in Hartford. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam crisis. Larry married Pamela Freels on June 10, 1971 in McHenry, KY.
He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 43 years as a Federal Food Safety Inspector. His duty stations included Washington, IN, Indianapolis, IN, Seymour, IN and Columbus, IN.
Larry is survived by his wife Pamela, son Adam (wife Caitlyn) Holland of Indianapolis, two granddaughters; Gwenyth and Eliza Holland of Indianapolis, three grandsons; Clint and Connor Holland and Brayden Dixon of Bangor, PA, sister Anita (husband Tommy) Gibson of Musella, GA, brother Paul (wife Brenda) Holland of Milan, TN, sister-in-law Phyllis (husband Jim) Basham of Monterey, TN, sister-in-law Lori (husband J.L.) Pennington of Monterey, TN sister-in-law Patricia Conger of Evansville, IN and brother-in-law Jim (wife Patty) Freels of Elberfeld, IN.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Larry was preceded in death by two sons; Lucas Evan Holland and Matthew Ryan Holland.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 1p.m. – 3p.m. in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Rd. 135 North, Nashville, Indiana 47448. Military honors will be performed by the Brown County Honor Guard and the US Marine Corp.
