Gerald Thomas Miller

Gerald “Joe” Thomas Miller, 79, longtime resident of Nashville, passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2020. Joe was born in Nashville to the late Louie Frank and Frances Miron Novellette-Messina Miller on March 17, 1940.

Gerald married Violet L. Callahan on June 2,1962 in Nashville. Gerald was employed at Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus then owned and operated Joe’s Garage and Wrecker Service in Brown County. He also owned and operated Brown County school buses for 40+ years. Joe was on the Board of Washington Township Trustees for several years and involved with several other organizations and achievements in many areas throughout the years. He also was a member of Parkview Church of the Nazarene and on the church board for 40+ years. He was in charge of kitchen management at the church for 30 years.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife Violet, his sister; Jean Trendleman of Prairie Creek, IN; sister Mary Banister of Elizabethtown, IN; brother James Louie (wife Cynthia) Miller of Columbus, IN; brother John Wayne(wife Brenda) Miller of Columbus, IN; sister Brenda (husband John) Roszak of Paisley, FL; brother Steven A.(wife Barbara) Miller of Nashville, IN; sister Peggy Lee (husband Dick) Furanna of Milford, CT; and brother Kevin Dale Miller of Nashville, IN, son Timothy A. Miller (DCD), Lisa L. (husband Dale) Hobby of Cody, WY; Joseph D.(Orson) Miller of Nashville, IN; and Thomas L. (wife Jill) of Nashville, IN.

Gerald is also survived by four grandchildren; Olivia D. Hobby, Nathan T. Miller, Hallee B. Miller and Joshua T. Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Ann Miller, brother Marshall Dean Miller, sister Vivian R. Taggart and sister Kay Miller-Dougherty.

Visitation for Gerald will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. in Parkview Church of the Nazarene, 1750 State Rd. 46 East, Nashville, IN. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. with visitation from 2p.m. until time of service also in the church. Burial will be in Crouch Cemetery, Nashville, IN. Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, Nashville, Indiana is entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Gerald’s name to the Parkview Church Kitchen Fund.
