Richard A. York, 76 of Milford, NH passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Southern NH Medical Center, Nashua, NH. He was born April 24, 1938 in Waterville, ME, a son of the late Walter A. and Frances E. (Bemis) York.
Mr. York had been a resident of Milford for the last 11 years, formerly living in Billerica, MA. He was very proud of his work ethic and dedication. Working for over 20 years at AGFA, he never took a sick day. Following his retirement in 2000, he went to work for his son’s screen printing business. Mr. York enjoyed spending time at his camp in Kingston, NH, traveling, carpentry and fixing items to make them new again, and long rides to nowhere in particular. To his granddaughter he will always be “older than Snoopy” and “full of malarkey.”
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; Adell (Durso) York of Milford, a son; Stephen R. York of Milford, a granddaughter; Stephanie Marie York, three brothers; Charles A. York of Indiana, Walter H. York of Florida and Raymond A. York of Burlington, MA, a sister; Florence A. Aquino of Brighton, MA and also by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother; Ronald A. York and a sister; Barbara A. York.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Milford, NH.
