Hazel Pearl (Patterson) Corbett, age 93, of Rowley MA, formerly a long-time resident of Merrimack, NH and Clearwater, FL died peacefully at Sea View Retreat in Rowley, MA on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
Born on July 14, 1926 in Nashua, NH, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Annie Patterson. She was raised in Merrimack, NH and was educated in Nashua, NH. In 1946, she married the late Donald LaPlante and raised three children.
Hazel was a hard and dedicated worker. She was employed by Sprague Electric Company for many years until her retirement at the age of 60. She married the late John J. Corbett and enjoyed many years if retirement in Clearwater, FL.
Hazel was a devoted mother, loving wife, and loyal friend. She was very proud of her family and loved being ‘Mimi’ to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hazel was known for her feisty, yet great sense of humor. Hazel developed a passion for ballroom dancing when she was young and continued to dance into her late 80’s. Hazel also loved to read, travel, solve crossword puzzles, and take morning walks. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Hazel is survived by her daughter Kathleen (LaPlante) Dorato and her husband Joseph, of Salisbury, MA; her daughter Donna (LaPlante) Bethel and her husband Charles, of Peabody, MA; and her son, Lawrence LaPlante and his wife Kimberly of Loganville, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Gia (Dorato) LaMontagne, Julie (Dorato) Koehler, Mark and Jason Bethel, and Hannah and Ryan LaPlante. In addition, she is survived by seven great-grandchildren: Samantha and Carissa LaMontagne; Brayden, Camden, and Kendryn Bethel; and Summer and Joseph Koehler.
In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel is predeceased by her brothers George Patterson, Horace Patterson Jr, Dana Patterson, Robert McManus, and sister Ruth Dejeet.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday December 29, 2019 from 2-5pm at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St, Nashua NH. She will be laid to rest at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack, NH.
