Wayne John Charles Rasmussen

Wayne John Charles Rasmussen, age 68 passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 in Homestead, Florida. A nearly life long resident of New York, Wayne was born in Jamestown, New York on April 7, 1956 to Borge Rasmussen and Viola Marie (Lampo) Rasmussen. He graduated from Jamestown High School and joined the Navy. After his time in the Navy, Wayne attended Fredonia college majoring in art, before he earned a certificate as an HVAC technician. He worked for nearly 20 years at Acu-Rite Inc. and then with Brines Refrigeration Inc until his retirement.

Wayne was a loving father and grandfather and his children and grandchildren were blessed to have him live near them for the last two years of his life.

Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Viola (Lampo) Rasmussen and his father, Borge Rasmussen. He is survived by his sisters, Kathy Ridgeway and Linda Bines, his daughter, Tina Marie Morris, his son, Garrett Scott Rasmussen, and his three grandchildren, Cailyn Yun-En Morris, Zackary Wayne Morris, and Emerson Viola Morris.

A memorial service will be held in Jamestown on Sunday, June 9 at the American Legin in Frewsburg, New York. A calling hour will begin at 1:00 pm with a brief service at 2:00 pm. A luncheon will follow. If so inclined, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
