Patrick Michael Shugrue, 85, of Homestead, passed away December 22, 2015 at the Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida.
He was born May 15, 1930 in Washington Heights , New York to John and Kathleen Shugrue.
Patrick went on to serve in the United States Air Force for twenty-two years mainly as a radar operator. Three days after being discharged in 1971 he worked as a Dade County Correction Officer for two years. He then transfered to the Dade County Police Department Crime Lab as an alcohol test technician for two years moving on to become a Metro Dade Police Officer serving for twenty-two years retiring in 1993. He also started working at Miami Dade College in 1984 until present time.
On his spare time Patrick loved helping out at Sacred Heart Church. He was part of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Moose Lodge.
Patrick was preceded in death by his loving wife of thirty years, Geraldine.
The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 , from 4pm - 8 pm at the Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home located at 27100 Old Dixie Hwy, Naranja Florida 33032.
