She was born January 25th, 1933 in Murphysboro, Illinois. She attended Murphysboro High School, the home of the Murphysboro Red Devils. After graduation she married her highschool sweetheart, Richard Edwards and shortly afterwards they moved to Pensacola Florida while Richard was in the Navy. From there they moved to Homestead , Florida where they raised their 3 boys.
Mrs. Edwards was a member of the First Baptist Church of Homestead where she kept busy in various activities both in church and the community. She was also a longstanding member of the Homestead Rodeo Association where she was very active and managed the rodeo queen process.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and ( Sue ) Edwards of Panama City, Florida; and Kenneth and (Patricia) Edwards of Eufaula; Alabama; and Richard ( Ricky ) Edwards of Battlefield Missouri. She has 7grandchildren; Greg and ( Michele ) Edwards of Eufaula, Alabama; Ashley and ( Mac ) Andrew of White House, Tennessee; Jody and (Johnnie) Hewwet of Sumter, South Carolina; Lauren and ( Zack ) Hamsley of Columbus; Georgia; Blake and ( Jada ) Edwards of Eufaula, AL; Dezarae and ( Will) Gilmore of Eufaula, Alabama; Rachel and ( Keith) Kutscher of Springfield, Missouri and 15 great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Edwards .
