Elizabeth's vibrant spirit was evident in her love for fishing, arts and crafts, and her passion for soca, calypso, and reggae music.
Her journey through life included various chapters, beginning with the joyous moments of bringing two beautiful children into the world—Raymond and Louise. While she faced heartbreak a few years later with the loss of her newborn daughter Jacqueline, Elizabeth's resilience and determination never wavered.

Her dedication and hard work led her to become a certified nursing assistant, a profession she wholeheartedly embraced. Her compassion for others and her ability to bring comfort to those in need made her an essential member of the healthcare community.
Throughout her professional journey, Elizabeth worked at Cedars Hospital and South Miami Hospital, providing care to those in need. Later, she became a part-owner of a gas station convenient store, displaying her entrepreneurial spirit and determination to create a better future for her family.
Elizabeth's family continued to grow and bring joy to her life as she gave birth to yet another loving son Edward Arthur Meadows Jr (her baby boy) and shortly after when her children, Raymond and Louise, expanded her family by giving her eight beautiful grandchildren.
Over the years, Elizabeth created her own personal memories with each of her grandchildren. From visits filled with laughter to special occasions. She reveled in the joy and unique personalities of each grandchild, treasuring the special moments they shared.
Elizabeth's life took an unforeseen turn when tragedy struck again with the loss of her beloved son, Edward Jr., in a devastating accident in 2003. The bond between Elizabeth and her remaining daughter, Louise, grew even stronger as they shared the unimaginable pain of losing a child and sibling. Louise's unwavering support and love for Elizabeth became a pillar of strength during their darkest days.
In the later years of her life, Elizabeth's family continued to grow, bringing her the added joy of four great-grandchildren.
The love Elizabeth had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was immeasurable. She recognized the immense privilege of watching them grow and was grateful for every memory created, knowing that these moments would carry her spirit forward in their hearts.
Elizabeth’s love continues to flow through each branch of the family tree leaving many memories and laughter she shared with her grandchildren will forever remain as a testament to her love.
Though her physical presence is gone, the family that Elizabeth built and the memories they share are a lasting tribute to the woman she was. Her legacy lives on through the bonds she cultivated and the love she bestowed upon her family near and far.
As her health began to fade, Elizabeth found solace and support in her daughter Louise, who lovingly cared for her throughout their shared journey and the love and support from her last living son Raymond. Although the distance, Raymond always remained dear to her heart more than he would have ever known. They spent the last two decades together, cherishing every moment and creating memories to last a lifetime.

Mommy,
Today, my heart is so heavy with an unimaginable pain that I feel from losing you, my soul is crushed and I feel nothing but pain.
Mommy you were the one who cheered me on through life's challenges, and who has loved me unconditionally. Your absence has left me numb with emptiness that is all-consuming me, and my heart aches with a pain I never thought was possible.
Mommy in my eyes you were an extraordinary woman in every sense of the word. Your love knew no bounds, and you poured your heart and soul into every aspect of my life.
A mother's love is a gift beyond compare, and Mommy you gave me that endlessly. Your love is a guiding light, and I pray, that light continues to guide me through life's hardships and reminding me that I am never alone. Doing life without you now seems unreal. You have never left my side in almost 49 years. You are my best friend. Waking up not seeing you everyday and not hearing your voice telling me to have a good day and I love you, seems so unfair, yet I am thankful that God made you for me.
Sense your transition your absence is a constant reminder of all the moments that will never be again. The hugs I can no longer feel, the laughter I can no longer share, and the sound of your voice that I can no longer hear has left a huge void in my life. Each day feels like an eternity without your presence, and the void left in your absence is a darkness that threatens to consume me. I pray to God every day that I don't see that darkness as I did when we lost Eddie.
Mommy you were there for me during my hardest times in my life, you would say to me , Lou Lou as long as we got each other we will be alright.
No matter what pain you felt you always made others smile and laugh with your comic sense of humor.
To lose a mother is to lose a part of oneself. Your love was the very foundation upon which my life was built, and your absence leaves me feeling shattered. Grief engulfs me in waves, and each breath I take feels like a painful reminder that you’re not here. I told you I would be there with you till the very end Mommy and watching you take your last breath was something no one can prepare for. I pray you felt my presence and heard my prayers as I yelled them out to the Lord, take her God, take her to your place you have prepared for her open your arms. I know now this pain and it feels as if the umbilical cord was just cut after 49 years together.
Mommy please watch over me I need you now more than ever.
I have no funny story to tell at the moment. I want to keep them all to myself. Every memory of you I hold onto dearly. In time I know it will get easier. I will no longer suppress my feelings keeping them away just to stay strong. You are no longer in pain no longer suffering no more all day visits to the doctor no more sleepless nights no more scooting around in a wheelchair no more yelling at our pets (lol)
Mommy I pray you find eternal peace in the embrace of angels, knowing that you have touched our lives in ways that words can never fully capture. I pray you are now with your baby boy and know nothing of the pain of missing you with us left behind.
Rest in peace, Mommy, knowing that your love will forever live on within us.
Your loving daughter,
Louise
Lou Lou
I love you Lucy (Mommy)
Mommy, my beautiful mother.
You loved me unconditionally.
It’s a Bahamian thing…calling her Mommy. I will miss the times when
you answered my call…“Hey old man” or “Raaaaaymond”.
I still hear your voice and can see your gestures. I remember your jokes and sarcasm. You always wanted to keep me from your hurt and pain; you always wanted to protect my feelings. You didn’t want me to worry, but I did.
My strongest and fondest memory of you was when I was 4 years old
bouncing a tennis ball on the front porch. I reached into a bush where it fell
and cut my ring finger deeply to the bone. I screamed out for you,
Mommy and you rushed over to me with blood running down my arm. You
wrapped it in a towel and took me to the hospital. There
you soothed me and comforted me while the doctor stitched my
finger together. It's those moments that I felt your love and concern for me.
When I needed you the most, you were there to embrace me.
Mommy, I remember all of the photos taken that captured your growth through all of these years and each one is permanently embedded in my mind. I will remember
you each day. You will always be my beautiful mother –Mommy.
With love from your son,
Raymond
To the best bonus Mommy ever!
I am so grateful for God putting you in my life. In the short period of time I've had the honor of knowing you, you have blessed me and our children in so many ways and it makes me sad that I never got the chance to tell you.
Thank you for making your son, Raymond, thank you for being so kind and thank you for being such a wonderful light in our lives.
I know you will visit me often; in my dreams and otherwise and I look forward to talking to you again, beautiful.
Rest in sweet peace, Mommy Liz.
With love from your daughter-in-law,
Shantelle
My Dear Friend,
In October 2022, I met Liz at "Brookwood" a rehab facility, not knowing it would be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
We bonded in such a short period of time and it felt like we had known each other all our lives.
We looked forward to our daily conversations most times more than once a day. We talked about everything from family, sports, food, our tv shows, and the news. We laughed, cried, and sometimes had to calm each other down but most of all we encouraged each other to live our best life.
I will remember Liz as my protector, my sister, and my confidant. Liz is the epitome of love in action, and I thank God for a true friend!
“Rest in peace my angel”
I Love You, Tangela
