Jerry D. Detmer

Born April 13, 1937 in Harrison Township, Henry County, Ohio, the son of Theodore E. and Ione (Eisaman) Detmer. On September 6, 1955 he married Joyce Janeway, who survives of Napoleon.

Jerry was a maintenance manager for the former Maumee Children’s Home, Maumee, Ohio, for 20 years. He was presently working for the Four County Career Center, Archbold, Ohio.

Surviving also is two sons Tim (Brenda) Detmer, Tom Detmer, both of Napoleon; two daughters Carrie (Jeff) Eitzman, Jeanie (Mike) Veillon, both of Napoleon, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three sisters Nancy (Kenneth) Lange, Napoleon, Ohio, Sally Rettig, Mansfield, Ohio and Darlene Wells, Temperance, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Jennifer Detmer, two brothers Warren and Jack Detmer.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Lindy Maurice-Saum, officiating. Interment will be made in Hoy Cemetery, Harrison Township.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
